Each New Zealand Racing Club was assessed against performance framework including the following categories: Financial, Racing, Marketing, Governance and Innovation.
We are honored to have won the 2023 Country Club of the Year and to be recognised in such a way.

Kumara Racing Club
About Us
The Club first raced on the 28 and 29 December 1887, with just 58 members. In the late 1940s the Club moved to a January meeting and has since then raced annually in January.
Kumara Racecourse in recent years the track has undergone a major overhaul resulting in an excellent racing surface.
Kumara Racing Club look forward to a large crowd and great racing in January featuring the Kumara Gold Nuggets.
Our Feature Race
The Kumara Gold Nuggets
Kumara is known for its rich history of gold discoveries, since 1876. As well as this, the West Coast is home of beautiful pounamu (greenstone).
As a club, we are proud to continue the tradition of awarding the winners of our iconic feature race 'The Kumara Gold Nuggets' their very own greenstone and gold nuggets.
Our Team
Our club is made up of dedicated volunteers who work throughout the year to maintain our club, and prepare for our annual race meeting.
We are lucky to have keen supporters, getting on board to lend a helping hand when needed and appreciate the hard yards put in.
